When I first met with Lynette and Joe, I was struck by their incredibly sweet and caring nature – both for each other, and everyone they seemed to come in contact with! Getting to know them more throughout the wedding preparations only confirmed that they are two of the absolute nicest people I’ve ever met. I was so honored to have been a part of their big day!
Lynette got ready with her mom and sister at the Double Tree Hotel in Skokie while hair stylist, Brent Kleckner, and Lia, from Nika Vaughan Bridal Artists, kept her calm and smiling – and looking incredibly beautiful!
The bride and groom’s talented friends and family were involved in almost every element of the ceremony and reception, held at the lush, art-deco Kenilworth Club. Harpist Isabelle Olivier’s music welcomed guests as they took their seats, and a good friend of Lynette’s officiated the service. His personal touches kept the couple’s guests laughing and smiling, while simultaneously pulling at their heartstrings. While it was a hot summer day, the shade from the gorgeous trees on the Kenilworth Club property kept guests cool during the short-and-sweet ceremony!
Soon it was time to move inside for the reception. After the couple was announced, three dear friends of the couple (and improv experts!) shared heartfelt toasts and acted as emcees for the evening’s festivities. Lynette’s cousin took to the stage for a piano performance during dinner, ending with a special request of the groom’s — a rendition of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.”
J&L Catering served up a delicious meal of chicken roulade stuffed with spinach ricotta and sundried tomatoes, while vegetarian guests enjoyed poblano and corn tamales over yellow rice with pepitas. Gluten-free meals from Pear Tree Catering helped ensure those with very specific food allergies were able to enjoy completely safe – and totally delicious – meals that complemented the menu that J&L put together.
Lynette and Joe’s wedding cake from Luscious Layers pulled inspiration from the venue’s stained glass windows for the design – accented with white ranunculus and Italian ruscus from Life in Bloom to create a truly beautiful work of art.
Life in Bloom’s lush floral styling added gorgeous detail to the ceremony and reception, utilizing dark green foliage and soft white flowers to play up the gorgeous greenery on the Kenilworth Club property and its stained-glass windows.
After dinner, guests grooved on the dance floor — thanks to some help from Just Press Play!
Jaclyn Simpson Photography captured all the precious moments, using the beautiful backdrop of the Kenilworth Club to complement the lovely couple.
Lynette and Joe, it was such a joy to be a part of your wedding day! Congratulations, and we wish you all the best in your new life together!
