Brooke and Nate’s October wedding incredibly special to me. Brooke is a friend of our very own Joan Cinquegrani’s, so when it came time to choose a wedding planner, she knew she had to go with Five Grain Events. Brooke and I decided to “meet” when I returned to work after giving birth to my beautiful daughter, Rose. Only at that meeting did we realize we had met before–Brooke was my delivery nurse! It was really meaningful that Brooke got to be a part of one of the happiest days of my life, and that I, in turn, got to be a part of one of hers. It is something that I will cherish for a lifetime.
Brooke and Nate chose to be married in Brooke’s home town near Starved Rock, which was an incredible backdrop and made the weekend feel really personal. The wedding day started out at Brooke’s family farm, where the ladies got gussied up by expert hair stylists and makeup artists from Mario Tricoci. The photographer, Shane Welch, and his associate, as well as videographer, Ingrid from White Lily Productions arrived to document the fun. Meanwhile, the guys got ready at Grand Bear Lodge before heading off for photos around the park.
Although it is closing soon, Brooke and Nate were able to get married at St. Peter and Paul Parish: the catholic church Brooke grew up attending, which meant a lot to her family. Brooke and Nate were married by Brooke’s high school chaplain, who knew many of the wedding guests and bridal party, making the ceremony feel so intimate.
After the ceremony was finished, the guests sent Brooke and Nate off in style in a Model T! One dream of Brooke’s was to have a sendoff in her dad’s prized possession: a 1922 Model T. Brooke’s dad was the 2nd owner of the car and completely refurbished it while in high school. He suffers from complications from Parkinson’s Disease and a recent stroke, so having something he loves so much be involved in the day was very important to her.
The Halcotts are longtime members of the Deer Park Country Club and knew it was the perfect setting for their “fall in the country” themed reception. With the crisp autumn air and the changing leaves on the trees, it was just breathtaking. Cocktails took place inside the country club, while the reception took place in a tent outside so guests could take advantage of the view all night long. Brooke ordered tree rounds to be the base of the spectacular arrangements created by Mary’s Special Touch. The table decor really popped against the elegant linens from Marian Mae Bridal Boutique. The Versailles chairs from Cook’s Rentals really brought everything together. Even the cake from Kelsey’s Kakes fit with the theme.
Cocktail hour was so much fun! Brooke and Nate chose to have two signature drinks: Moscow Mules for Nate and Carmel Apple Martinis for Brooke. Guests found their tables with escort cards attached to caramel apples from Cunningham’s Candies, which also acted as their favors. Brooke and Nate named each table after places that had been special to them throughout their relationship.
Once guests were seated, they were in for a treat! Nate and Brooke had their bridal party announcements pre-recoreded by the one and only Ray Clay, former Jordan-era announcer for the Chicago Bulls! Bridal Party members were announced into the room in true Chicago style. It was one of the best bridal party announcements I have ever seen.
After the announcements, Brooke and Nate went straight into their first dance, followed by the cake cutting. After a heartfelt welcome toast by Brooke’s dad and brother, dinner was served. Both Best Men, the Maid of Honor, and Matron of Honor gave special toasts throughout the meal.
After dinner, dancing began! The Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances got the party started. The unbelievable sweets table by Life’s Sweeter Side gave the evening a special touch.
The bouquet and garter toss were a big hit. With Nate’s fraternity brothers’ customary performance of “You’ve Got That Lovin’ Feeling” for the bride and Brooke’s sorority sisters’ dance to “Like A Prayer” plus the musical stylings of DJ Joe Beck Entertainment, the guests stayed on the dance floor all night long.
We love this recap by White Lily Productions of Brooke and Nate’s wedding. Such a fun day!
What an amazing wedding! Brooke and Nate, all the best to you as you embark on this next stage of life together.
