I had been looking forward to Arielle and Adam’s wedding for a quite long time! They hired me to help with day of coordination and vendor recommendations last August–and the event seemed so far away. When the day finally arrived I think it snuck up on all of us, but the team was in place and we were rarin’ to go!
Arielle and her bridesmaids prepped for the day in a lovely suite overlooking the lake at The Ritz. Micaela Brunetti of Belle de Jour Artistry and Erika Tenuto made sure the girls were camera-ready as Shane Welch arrived for getting-ready shots.
As Arielle slipped on her gorgeous gown she truly looked like Cinderella! I think the photo of her putting on her shoes really captures that as well.
The couple chose to do a first look followed by some photos around the city. It was a HOT day, so the first stop was Ghirardelli for milkshakes to cool off! And thank goodness they had planned for an air-conditioned limo via Windy City Limo (who would have thought it would be necessary in mid-June??).
Arielle and Adam chose a chic color palate of whites, ivories, and silver accented with splashes of teals and blues. Natural Beauties Floral expertly captured the look they were going for using a mixture of lush hydrangea and sleek calla lilies. The pièce de résistance was the strung-orchid chuppah which looked ethereal hanging in the center of the Ritz ballroom.
When the bridal party returned from their photo jaunt, Arielle and Adam signed their simple ketubah, surrounded by their family, and then walked down the aisle for their ceremony-in-the -round.
Post-ceremony the celebration kicked off with a bang! The Ritz staff passed a slew of delectable canapé on the loge while guests took advantage of ShutterBooth—hopping in and out of the photo booth with various prop changes.
Meanwhile, The Ritz ballroom was being transformed from the ceremony setup to dinner and dancing. The parents of the bride were adamant that the drapes be left open so that guests could take in the gorgeous city views. The end result didn’t disappoint!
Peter Hennes Orchestra started the evening off with a dance set as guests were invited into the dining space. The bridal party was introduced and Arielle and Adam went straight into their first dance: Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, by The Four Seasons.
Throughout dinner guests were treated to wonderful toasts from the bride and groom’s nearest and dearest. My favorite was Arielle’s dad’s suggestion that both families take a combined last name of Elkenheimer! It does have a certain ring to it, doesn’t it?
From day one, Arielle and Adam told me that their wedding would be a big party. I think this may have been an understatement. Peter Hennes Orchestra really brought the house down, and the dance floor was packed for the entire evening.
I had so much fun working with you both on your fabulous event–it was a joy to see it all come together and watch you two having the time of your lives! Mazel Tov and L’Chaim to each day only getting better from here.
