We loved being able to work with Sarah and Matt on their October wedding. Sarah is the sister of my friend, Katherine, from college, and I was honored to have been chosen to help out with their big day. (We are equally as excited to be working on Katherine’s wedding coming up this summer!)
The day started early for the bridal party who got dolled up with the wonderful team from Nika Vaughan Bridal Artists. As the ladies prepped and primped, our groomsmen had a casual lunch in Matt’s room at the Hyatt. Smiling Toad Productions started filming video while Robb Davidson snapped some photos and cracked jokes to keep the mood light.
Florals were artfully created by VEIL Event Design and when the bouquets were delivered to Sarah and the girls, it was clear that this was going to be a memorable day. Before long, it was time to put on the dress! Sarah looked amazing in her gown from Bella Bleu Bridal.
The couple decided to have their first look at the Wrigley building. Robb did a great job and really captured the raw emotion involved in that experience. We love these pictures! After the first look, the whole wedding party loaded up on a bus provided by Windy City Limo for some great shots all around the city. As a nod to their Halloween weekend wedding, the couple selected some interesting socks for the groomsmen to wear!
Following photos, the wedding party headed to the 80th floor of the Aon building to the Mid-America Club where the vendor team had been working hard to bring together Sarah and Matt’s vision. They spent some time pre-ceremony in a back room goofing off and watching a football game while trying to keep the couple anxiety-free!
Sarah was a bit nervous when she started down the hallway with her dad but really handled it like a pro! The short and sweet ceremony was officiated by Reverend Alan Taylor from Unity Temple and was immediately followed by an unforgettable cocktail hour.
After cocktails, guests were encouraged to grab their personal pumpkin escort card and head to their seat. There were so many other amazing personal touches that Matt and Sarah incorporated into their special day. For instance, each table number included a corresponding picture of the bride and groom at that age. It was so neat watching Matt and Sarah “grow up” as we walked from table to table.
Dinner was promptly served by the Mid-America Club and was enjoyed by all. There were several speeches and the dance floor opened immediately after Sarah and Matt gave a wonderful “thank you” toast to all their loved ones. We always love working with Toast & Jam DJs and this night was no exception; Karin kept the bumping beats going all night long! Although the cubs lost in Chicago that night, everyone at the Mid-America Club was flying a “W” high in the sky celebrating Sarah and Matt.
Sarah and Matt, we loved working with you and meeting so many of your wonderful friends and family members. We can’t wait for the next one 😉
