“Use Joan or else! We chose Joan from Five Grain Events as our day of coordinator for our August 2011 wedding. She was EXTREMELY organized, efficient and detail oriented. Joan attended our rehearsal and made sure our wedding day ran smoothly from start to finish. When my mom couldn’t figure out how to bustle my dress, Joan came to the rescue!
I can not thank Joan enough. She kept me stress free on my wedding day, so I was able to have fun without worrying about the details. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Joan was in constant contact with our vendors, the wedding party and our families to answer their questions and notify them of the details of our day. A few of my vendors commented that Joan was the one of the best wedding planners they have ever worked with, so they were happy as well 🙂
I would give her 100 stars if I could!”
“Hi Joan. I hope you are resting today. YOU were so patient and kind during this stressful, exciting, crazy, wonderful weekend. You deserve tremendous success in the years to come.
Thank you so much for making the wedding a wonderful memory for our family and friends.
Our inspiration was 1950s elegance, and the concept was sparked by these adorable “Bride” and “Groom” champagne glasses I found at a thrift store. Isn’t it fun how the littlest things can spark your imagination? I asked my mom about weddings she attended as a little girl, looked at photos from my grandparents’ wedding (though that was in the 1940s), and Suzy did lots of online research. After all that we came up with a peachy-pink and white color scheme with silvery gray accents.
We wanted to simulate a different way of doing place cards, so Suzy tied tiny escort cards to the bottoms of wine glasses (more thrift store finds!). Half of the glasses were filled with stunning peony blooms and half I had filled with soy wax to make into candles*! Either way, it’s a nice little favor for your guests.
*Check out Bright Endeavors where I had the glasses made into candles. It’s a great organization that gives young mothers job training before helping them find more permanent job opportunities.
The gorgeous centerpiece that Kelly Marie made for us!
Suzy had the fabulous idea to add some tulle under the tablecloth as a nod to 1950s dresses. I LOVE how it turned out!
It’s always so much fun to be able to go a little crazy on these stylized table setups. Even though it’s not likely that anyone will actually pin tulle under each and every table at their wedding, we hope you’ll take some of these ideas to use for your wedding!
“I can’t say enough positive things about Lauren at Five Grain Events. Not only was she easy to work with, but she made juggling dozens of balls in the air at one time look easy as pie. My parents have no idea how she was able to be so organized, manage so many things at once, and keep everyone on time and in line, but she did it! My one regret…not hiring her sooner. If I had any idea how much work and the literally hundreds of details a wedding was to not only plan but execute, I would have hired her before anyone else. Honestly, it should be illegal to get married without a coordinator – they are absolutely worth every penny. Because of Lauren, my parents and I were able to truly relax and enjoy our wedding instead of worring about all of the details because we completely trusted Lauren’s abilities. When you think about it, after all of the work you go through to plan a wedding, don’t you want to enjoy it when it arrives? If you don’t have someone you trust managing the vendors and timing of every detail (and there are so many more than you know!), you’ll end up managing the most important day of your life instead of experiencing and savoring it.”
