Kelly is the kind of girl everyone wants to be around. There’s something about her demeanor that just makes you feel special. She’s bubbly, and funny, and totally interested in what you have to say. A great friend…an even better client. Aren’t I lucky that I get to call her both?
Kelly and I are friends from college and I was thrilled that she called on me while putting together her vendor team for her wedding. She needed a coordinator to help manage and execute the countless amazing details she had painstakingly assembled for her big day at the gorgeous Cuneo Mansion. I was so excited to be a part of it all!
The ladies started their day at the Westin North Shore dressed in the chic floral robes Kelly gave to her bridesmaids as gifts. Each had selected her own dress in a palate ranging from cream to slate gray. It really allowed everyone to express themselves, and added to the eclectic feel of the event.
Caleb from Fleur put together these lush bouquets (and Kelly brought the blue mason jars for them to hang out in at the hotel!).
Kelly and Luke’s first look was really touching. Definitely a few tears from Luke.
Until just the day before the wedding, rain was looming in the forecast and we weren’t sure we were going to be able to be outside. Luckily, the weather took a turn for the better and we had an absolutely spectacular day. Kristin, from Kristin La Voie Photography directed the group around Cuneo’s pristine grounds for some group shots.
The ceremony, officiated by Luke’s uncle, was held overlooking the mansion just at the cusp of sunset. I truly couldn’t envision a more special setting.
After the cocktail hour (complete with croquet and bocce ball on the lawn!), guests were directed to select their key/place card and head into the ballroom. Each table was appointed with gray linens, mint green napkins, and Fleur’s deep burgundy florals with pops of blues. Kelly and Luke left a homemade cookie at each place setting as a thank you to their guests. Elegant Event Lighting added to the atmosphere with some mood lighting.
Following toasts by the co-maids of honor, co-best men, and Kelly and Luke’s parents, Bauer’s Catering served up a delicious meal. Luckily, Jason from Lexoria Wedding Films was on hand to capture the fabulous speeches for posterity.
Once dinner was complete, Carrie from Toast & Jam DJs, lit up the dance floor for the remainder of the evening. There certainly was no shortage of activity: in addition to The Traveling Photo Booth, Kelly and Luke set up a scotch and cigar bar on the terrace. Guests loved the opportunity to take a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle to celebrate the occasion with a cigar or tumbler of scotch.
When the clock struck midnight, we lined up all the remaining guests, decked them out in glow necklaces and the newlyweds had a proper grand exit: complete with a classic Rolls Royce from Flying Lady Livery to whisk them off to their honeymoon suite.
I could go on for days listing all of the special touches Kelly and Luke put into their wedding day. It was an event filled to the brim with details that fit the happy couple to a “t”. I feel honored that they entrusted Five Grain Events to play a role in bringing it all together. Wishing you both a lifetime of memories just as happy as that beautiful autumn evening last September.
