Colleen and Onur met while attending the University of Chicago and chose it as the site for their beautiful wedding on a crisp April day this spring. Once Colleen brought me on board as a member of her wedding team, I was thrilled to have an excuse before to check out the gorgeous grounds of the University and I have to say, I was smitten. The whole campus, including The Quadrangle Club, has an air of elegance and, on a Saturday when campus is quiet, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It really made for a magical day!
The ladies started the day at The Quadrangle Club, relaxing in Colleen’s room and primping. Meanwhile, I was “ooh”-ing and “ahh”-ing over Colleen’s two dressesfrom BHLDN. The vintage vibe of her first gown lent itself perfectly to Colleen’s look of subtle glamour.
While the ladies were having a low-key morning, Onur and his groomsmen were reliving their undergrad days at their former home: their fraternity house down the street. While this choice in morning venue gave me slight heart palpitations (I had visions of beer-chugging), the boys were perfect gentlemen and delivered Onur unscathed for his first look with Colleen prior to the ceremony. The lovely Dawn E.Roscoe was on-hand to perfectly capture the moment!
We were then off to Bond Chapel so Colleen and Onur could finally tie the knot! While most couples think of Rockefeller Memorial Chapel for U of C weddings, Bond Chapel was perfect for Colleen and Onur’s intimate ceremony. Tucked away on the campus grounds, it felt like we had found a secret spot for their wedding.
After the “I Do”’s, it was time to head back to the Quad Club for dinner and dancing. Pollen provided the gorgeous floral arrangements for the day and Cream Cake Co. made the delicious wedding cake. Erica of Toast & Jam had everyone on their feet the moment dinner ended so the party could really get started.
Everything came together beautifully and I had such a wonderful time spending the day with Colleen, Onur and their friends! Colleen and Onur, wishing you a wealth of happiness and love in your new life together!
