Sara and her mother knew they wanted to enjoy Sara’s wedding-planning process — and in order to do that, they would need some help along the way! They reached out to Five Grain Events to help them organize their thoughts for overall event decor, and help keep them calm and excited as the day inched closer.
We loved getting to know Sara along the way – she was the very definition of “laid-back bride!” She and her fiancé love good beer, and wanted a fun, relaxed atmosphere for their wedding celebration, so they chose the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, IL.
Sara and her bridesmaids started the day at Studio 209 in Wheaton, where they were treated to beautiful hair and makeup services by the expert stylists. Michael of Michael Paul Photographers was onsite to capture the beautification process and nervous smiles as the day began. Everyone then made their way over to the Two Brothers Roundhouse, where they’d get dressed for the big day!
Sara and her bridesmaids were able to enjoy a comfortable, private room for the preparations – full of lovely details to make them feel pampered before Sara and Zach’s nuptials.
We loved how Sara incorporated pops of color – her bridesmaids each got to choose their own style for their shoes in this bright and cheerful teal. We’re partial to Sara’s Converse — a perfect match for her bright and easy-going personality!
Sara and her parents had such a wonderful relationship — they were full of laughter and emotion throughout the day, and kept Sara feeling happy and excited as she got ready for the ceremony.
Soon it was time for the ceremony to begin, and as the guys made their way over to the Roundhouse from the neighboring Holiday Inn Express, Sara and her bridesmaids hid away in the bridal suite. Guests made their way to the Gazebo and took their seats.
There’s nothing cuter than little ones dressed up in formalwear. They are always full of energy and excitement before walking down the aisle, and are sure to bring a smile to everyone the wedding!
Sara and Zach were married by Sara’s godfather, a dear friend of the family, and were supported by their loving wedding party. We love the calla lily bouquets and boutonnieres, hand crafted by Bella Flora.
After the ceremony, the wedding party took a few photos around the Roundhouse before joining cocktail hour.
Sara and Zach have a shared passion for travel, so we found ways to incorporate their “around the world” theme into their print pieces, table numbers, and event decor.
Meredith of Studio M Creations helped bring Sara’s travel-themed print pieces to life, incorporating travel stamps and vintage map color into the escort cards.
After a delightful hour of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, guests took their seats for dinner and speeches. Their friends were clearly so delighted that Sara and Zach had found each other, and shared heartfelt stories celebrating their love.
After dinner, guests were treated to delicious cake courtesy of The Cakery. We loved the cute cake topper Sara had made, and couldn’t get enough of the beautiful simplicity of this naked cake design.
Eager to get the dance party started, Sara, Zach, and their parents took to the dance floor for their formal dances. We love the way Sara and Zach look at one another! The warm glow around the dance floor helped make for an even more intimate scene, thanks to the lighting specialists of Satin Chair Covers.
Everyone had a blast on the dance floor, and Kyle from Sounds Abound expertly navigated the music to keep all ages dancing all night!
Sara and Zach, we hope you have as much fun looking back through your wedding day as we did! It was such a pleasure working with you both, and we hope you are loving every minute of married life!
