When all the details for Erin and Michael’s wedding came together, “Wow!” was the first word that came to mind. Everywhere you looked there were spectacular details to ooh and aah over. A bonus was that, by the time their wedding day came along, I felt like a part of the family, having worked on Michael’s sister, Kate’s, wedding earlier in the year.
Erin and Michael hosted their sophisticated event at the Trump International Hotel. They each began the day in a beautiful suite surrounded by their wedding party. Erin and her bridesmaids started early with hair and makeup expertly done by stylists Danielle Keller, A.J. Schulz, and Sheri Cox. With the goal of having a calm and relaxed morning, the ladies lounged around in their monogrammed button-downs (a gift from the bride), enjoying brunch and taking in the river view.
Meanwhile, Michael and his groomsmen ate lunch and watched football. Talk about keeping the day relaxed! The great photography team Tony and Michelle of Life On Prints Photography as well as Nathan and his film crew with Delack Media Group were there to capture all the moments of the couple getting ready for their big event.
With the help of her bridesmaids, Erin slipped into her gorgeous lace gown, and added a final touch of an elegant ribbon. She was absolutely stunning!
Before long, it was time for everyone to head to Saint James Chapel at the Quigley Center. Erin’s father escorted his beautiful daughter to her chariot: a navy blue Rolls-Royce. The rest of the wedding party made their way to the church in a trolley provided by the Chicago Trolley Company.
It was important to Erin and Michael that they not see one another before the ceremony. I coordinated the day so they they never crossed paths, and I tell you the wait was worth it! The look on Michael’s face when he saw his bride for the first time was priceless, and this picture caught by Life On Prints is worth a thousand words.
Erin was a vision heading down the aisle on her father’s arm. It’s no wonder that Michael was a little choked up!
The bride and groom chose a traditional Catholic Mass for the ceremony. The gorgeous St. James Chapel provided the perfect intimate setting.
Throughout the day, Ryan and his team with Kehoe Designs had been working hard in the Trump Tower Grand Ballroom to set up for Erin and Michael’s reception. The design details were incredible, and it just kept getting better. Cocktail hour was held in the lounge just outside the Grand Ballroom. The cool grooves of Greenlight’s saxophone and piano duo welcomed the guests to relax and enjoy the atmosphere as well as the delicious hors d’oeuvres. The custom printed escort table was not only a beautiful display, but made the transition into dinner seamless.
As dinner was about to begin, guests were invited into the Grand Ballroom which had been transformed by Kehoe Designs into a magical scene. The long white farm tables were adorned by absolutely divine floral arrangements, and the room glowed with both candlelight and purple uplighting!
Greenlight began to rock the music as guests made their way to their seats. The band announced the new Mr. and Mrs. into the room, and Michael and Erin went straight to the dance floor for their first dance to In the Moment by Sister Hazel.
The guests join the couple for a short dance set to get the party started and what a joyous celebration it was! Erin’s parents spoke with such love and enthusiasm as they welcomed the guests. Both the Maid of Honor, Julianne, and Best Man, Nate, spoke of how Erin and Michael are “perfect for each other!”
Music plays a very important role in every celebration and this couple had some great selections. Erin danced with her father to Stevie Wonder’s Sunshine of My Life, and Michael danced with his mother to Louie Armstrong’s famous tune, It’s a Wonderful World.
From that point on, Greenlight kept the dance floor packed and it was nothing but dancing for the rest of the reception!
I know I haven’t done this event justice with my description, so I’m glad that Nathan from Delack Media Group was on hand to show the live action version of the day. Check out their amazing wedding film!
As the pièce de résistance, the couple had planned an awesome after-party event in the Trump Tower’s Skyline Room. Kehoe Designs decked it out in a chic 60’s inspired look, and dueling pianists from Howl at the Moon, kept the party going until the wee hours of the morning!
This event was truly a spectacular experience. I had a blast pulling together all the pieces and helping to execute such an awesome celebration! Wishing you both years of health and happiness–and many blessings in the years to come.
